A Decade of Applied Expertise

Shane Rogers is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and the owner of Refine Jiu Jitsu.

Shane began his martial arts journey in 2017 while serving in the United States Marine Corps, where he trained in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program and became a Martial Arts Instructor. His interest in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began when a friend invited him to train. After being thoroughly controlled by someone 30 to 40 pounds smaller than him, Shane was immediately drawn to the effectiveness, detail, and problem-solving nature of Jiu Jitsu.

After leaving the Marine Corps, Shane moved to Richmond, Virginia, where he spent five years training under Seph Smith and earned his brown belt. He then moved to North Carolina, where he trained under Nick Walters for two years and received his black belt.

Shane later moved to Las Vegas and continued his development under Renato and Raquel Canuto for two years before opening Refine Jiu Jitsu in 2026. His goal with Refine is to build a serious but welcoming academy where students can develop real skill, confidence, discipline, and a deeper understanding of Jiu Jitsu.
